Meet the Founder of Bravely
Janelle Schroy is the Founder of Bravely. Her love for learning through travel began as a child and only became stronger throughout her life. She’s now been to over 60 countries, 47 of them together with her husband, Jedd, and their four children: Reagan (14), Madison (12), Devyn (10) and Peyton (7).
Janelle has a BA in Political Science/International Relations from Westmont College with a minor in Environment and Development, teaching credentials, a professional certification in AI Design for Education, and a deep love of all things edtech.
Her family has two travel shows: Journey Into Wild and Adventure Family Journal. Both shows reflect Janelle’s family’s love of learning while traveling. Their hope is to stir up the same passion in other families. Janelle loves equipping families to launch Bravely into the big, beautiful world with kids. Connect personally with her on Facebook, Instagram, and Linkedin.

Educational family travel is the broad idea that the most impactful education is immersive. When we travel as a family into unknown places, it broadens everyone’s perspectives of history, culture, science and so much more. Children are deeply transformed by these experiences and often find their personal passions and interests ignited in a new way.
Educational family travel can take many forms. It’s all about intentionality! Some families do it on 10-day trips, others on multi-month sabbaticals from their home responsibilities, others take a “gap year” and see as much as they can in that time. Others decide to go all in, sell everything and hit the road indefinitely. No matter what that looks like, work is usually part of it. Many jobs these days can be done remotely. As we say at Bravely, “Where there is wi-fi, there is work!”
