Epic is a game changer for traveling kids. Imagine 45,000 books and hundreds of educational videos all on one app.
As a parents of world-traveling children, keeping kids reading books while we travel is always been a top priority. If we brought all the books we’ve read in that time with us…well, we’d have lots more suitcases than just our carry-ons.
Instead, my kids have used an app called Epic, which is an amazing digital library loaded up on all our devices.
40,000 KIDS’ BOOKS
Epic offers over 40,000 books, audiobooks, and learning videos, which means kids have endless options to explore. Whether we’re on a plane, waiting for a train, or exploring a far-flung destination, Epic provides a wealth of resources that keep learning at my kids’ fingertips.
The platform includes high-quality titles from renowned publishers like HarperCollins and National Geographic, so we explore a diverse range of both fiction and non-fiction books.
ONLINE OR OFFLINE ACCESS
One of the best features of Epic is its offline access. Before we head out on our trips, each of my girls download a selection of books and audiobooks onto their iPad.
This way, the kids can read or listen to their favorite stories without needing internet access, making long journeys much more enjoyable. With Epic’s educational content, they learn about the places we visit, and we talk about how what they’ve read matches what we experience in person.
USER FRIENDLY FOR KIDS
Epic is user-friendly and designed with kids in mind. The interface is colorful and intuitive, which makes it easy for my children to navigate on their own, even my 7 year old. They love earning badges and achievements as they read, which motivates them to explore even more books.
GLOBALLY DIVERSE
Use Epic to go deeper into the history and culture of various destinations.
For example, when in Egypt, have the kids read “Pyramids of Egypt” and “Ancient Egypt and Its Mysteries,” which provides fascinating insights which will make a tour of the pyramids much more meaningful.
When in France, let them explore “The Story of the Eiffel Tower” and “A History of Paris,” which just set the stage for a better experience when visiting these iconic landmarks.
A MUST HAVE
For any parent looking to combine travel and education, Epic is a must-have. Knowing that kids have access to such a vast library of content, tailored to their interests and educational needs takes the pressure off needing to lug around a suitcase of books!
We highly recommend Epic to all parents who want to inspire a love of reading and learning in their children, no matter where their adventures take them.
